Classic cars and new guitars – Hey, That Rhymes!

Hello All,

Firstly, I wanted to pass on my condolences to the friends and family of Bo Diddley, who passed away yesterday.

He was truly one of the biggest influences on some of the biggest names in music. If you don’t believe me, just listen to Buddy Holly’s “Brown Eyed handsome Man” or The Rolling Stones’ “Not Fade Away.”

He will be sorely missed, but leave behind a huge legacy which will be enjoyed by generations to come. Here’s a little taste of what the man could do.

RIP

Don’t forget that this Thursday, June 5th is the date of the latest Diamond Springs Classic Car show. They meet at around 4PM at Deb’s Frosty on Main Street.

There are always a bunch of really cool cars so don’t miss it. It’s a great way to see some classics and get away from the valley heat.

You can see our Myspace page to check out some photos of previous shows.

I got some news from Rockabilly legend, Dale Brooks today which I will happily pass on. He writes:

my old friend and my guitar player for several years, Rusty Talbott, has started a new enterprise. He is now custom making solid body electric guitars. Here are some pictures of their first model and I must say it looks right impressive. Hey, might be a good idea to get one of the first ones to keep as an investment as well as to play. It could well be a classic and be worth some big bucks some day. He has his factory set up in one of his business buildings in Buckhannon, W.Va. His address is rusty@3wlogic.net phone 304 613 7791
Have known him all my life and one thing I can say for sure…Rusty doesn’t do anything that isn’t top drawer. And being a good guitar man himself, he knows how a guitar should sound and handle easily. Got a hunch he’s come up with something good as usual.
Dale

Thanks to Dale for that information.

As always you can sign up to our Newsletter for further information.

Diamond Springs Car Show

Happy Friday everyone!!

Yesterday evening I was driving home with my son and on the way we passed the quaint little cowboy town of Diamond Springs. It’s just off hwy 50 on the way to South Lake Tahoe from Sacramento. Every 2 weeks during the summer months, Deb’s Frosty hosts a classic car show. The turnout is normally mixed, depending on what the weather is like, but last night there were a nice amount of cars.

I have some photos posted on my MySpace page www.MySpace.com/RockabillyHQ

Nice 57 Bel Air

It’s always a pleasure to see these wonderful old classics displayed in their finery. I can’t wait for Hot August Nights in Reno this year. Always a fun weekend if you are in the area.

Website news:

We’ve finalized the design, so it’s just a case of getting it built now. Exciting!

I also helped a friend of mine, Rockabilly Legend, Dale Brooks set up his own MySpace page. You can check it out at www.MySpace.Com/dalebrooksrockabilly

Have a great weekend everyone!!
